My call center buddies and I have decided to go on a camping trip to Anawangin Cove. According to the reviews I read on the net about the place, it's supposed to be a nice weekend getaway. No cell phone signal, no potable water, no electricity!
We scheduled our trip on April 17 (Saturday Mla time, that's Friday shift to all of you call center junkies) and I have 3 days to finish all my accountabilities. I hope I could finish all my work before 6:00 AM or else they're going to leave me.
Anawangin cove is near Baranggay Pundaquit in Stan Antonio, Zambales. It's my first time going there so I searched the net for some useful information on how to get to the place and tips on how to plan our escapade.
It's supposed to be a 3 hour bus ride from Manila to San Antonio. After getting off the bus you could get a trike going Pundaquit and from there a boat could be rented going to Anawangin Cove. Sound's pretty simple. Good thing for us our company allowed the use of one of their vans.
I have 3 days left and I'm pretty excited about the trip. It's been raining since yesterday, well not really raining (ambon lang) and I hope the weather is not going to be like this when we get there.
Now let's get down to business. Agenda No. 1 - Things to bring.
1. Water - Since this is going to be a camping trip and there is only 1 deep well in the place, i thought this should be the first on my list. No need to buy this in Manila, I'm pretty sure we could get one in San Antonio. This is to avoid me brining our (my GF and I) water supply from my house, to work, then to Anawangin.
2. Backpack - lucky me i got 1 medium sized backpack used for trecking.
3. Clothes
4. Food - canned goods, rice, a few fruits, candy and some energy bars (if i remember to buy them on my way to work on Friday)
5. First Aid Kit - a few paracetamol tablets, alcohol, betadine, band aid, cotton, well maybe a few diatabs too jut to be safe.
6. Tent
7. Butane Stove, small pot and pan, utensils - I hope TL Bryan brings the stove I'm borrowing from him
8. Lighter, match, swiss knife, whistle (we decided to bring one so we would know if there's an emergency or something)
9. Headlamp
10. Booze - maybe Fundador or any hard drinks, beer is too cumbersome to carry
11. More booze - it's better to overstock. From what i have read so far, there are two mini stores there and they sell their items for a low price of 3 times the regular price.
I think that's about it...
